Weekends should be spent as a break from a whole week's hard work. You're supposed to just stay at home, chill, relax, unwind, bond with your family. Not for me.
Two straight weeks. Two weekends. Two straight saturday OTs. One tiring Sunday outing. One stormy visit to a wedding supplier.
Back to last week. Saturday. OT. Deployment support. 18 hrs of expected standby time. 7:30 am - 1:00 am. And how busy were we then? 5 episodes of Smallville. Hundreds of web pages. A 2hour lunch. 0 hours spent for work. Now that's what i call an ideal weekend over time.. hehehe... 10.75 hours of total OT time, for totally zero work done.
Sunday. Outing. Swimming. A long walk. My fiancee's mom's birthday. An AM of swimming. An afternoon of strolling (errr... walking). A long trip to Dasmarinas. A long walk in Picnic Grove in Tagaytay. And an even longer ride home. Good thing it didn't take me long to fall asleep. I was... wasted...
Saturday again. OT. This time, there's a lot of work. 11 hours. And i still didn't finish my OT work. Medyo nakakasakit sa loob na pumasok kse i have to wake up early on the first day of the year that i'll actually enjoy sleeping and waking up. It was cold, and its raining, i mean storming, which means i won't have to wake up sweating. For the first time this year, i didn't have to make my electric fan work overtime. Too bad, i didn't enjoy that moment a bit. I was on my way to the office even before the sun was up. (The sun never did went up. Caloy didn't let her. :D)
Sunday. Scheduled meeting with a wedding supplier. Weather's still a bit windy. And i still have to wake up early. I attended mass in San Agustin Church in Intramuros Manila. At 8am. And i'm from Cavite. The scheduled meeting was for a food tasting. To finalize our menu for the wedding reception. Good thing there were several choices for the menu, because that Lengua dish really tasted aweful (at least for me). The afternoon, my fiancee and i, watched a movie. That movie about the sinking ship. No not titanic. The other one, the lord of the seas, Poseidon. Then after the movie we called it a day. We took home(my finacee's house) 2 boxes of pizza from that 'hut' that makes pizzas. Cheesy volcano meat lovers and a free palm card pepperoni pizza. I was back home at 8pm. Exhausted. Again.
Thinking of the OT pay, the sun burn i got from swimming, the quality time with my fiancee during that walk in Tagaytay, the movie, the pizza, those two weekends weren't that bad after all. I'm looking forward this next weekend, still wishing for more hours of sleep... But for now, i'm off to work.
