Back in Manila

Back sa wakas. After 19 hours of travel time, nakarating na din kme ni misis ng Pinas.
I told myself, finally, makakapagpahinga na kame.
So instead na umuwi ulit sila sa kanila (Malanday, Valenzuela), they'll just spend the night sa condo. Kaya after dropping off our baggages sa condo, we went straight to Dasma, Cavite. So mga 12 midnight, nasa byahe kame.
So we had to take some things with us para matulugan namin. Dun kame lahat nagsiksikan.

Manila here i come!

Hehehehehe... my last day in Austin. Bukas, we're leaving US thru Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. We'll do a brief stop at Narita in Tokyo, then we're back in Manila! Woohoo!!! O_o

Hehehehehe... anyway, it was fun being here. Again. Kahit na may konting "slip-ups" sa work, eh i managed to sneak out of them easily. Our counterparts here loves us being here, kase bawas talaga sa trabaho nila. And it's easier working face-to-face with them rather than communicating only through emails and occassional conference calls.

As usual, we dined out for the last time here before we leave. Lunch-out with our bosses and leads. Treat ng lolo joe ko :D. We had lunch sa McAlister Deli, famous for their sandwiches and salads.

I wonder what awaits us pagbalik namin sa condo sa Makati.

At least makaka-"pahinga"(pahinga=time away from office, not "rest" o.o) kame ng konti before pumasok ulit sa opisina.

We're going to visit our house, pagbalik namin sa Pinas. We have no idea kung ano nangyari dun nitong may nagdaan na 2 bagyo. Baka binaha na ung second floor nun. Baka naubos na gamit dun. Baka nabasag na mga salamin ng bintana. O_o Wag naman sana.

Goodbye Austin... until we meet again. :D
Hello Manila... malapit na kitang muling makita. ^_^

Commentary...

  • 'out of body' experience. I've never had that kind of experience. At least that's what i think. According to this article, this experience is "the sensation of being awake and seeing their own body from another location". That article also said that, kaya nilang i-simulate ung experience na yun. O_o
  • Excuse me, I'd like to buy your B-52. So the title of the article goes. Marami akong pera, makabili nga ng B-52 Bomber. Ang cool nyang tingnan eh.
  • When someone in your family dies, you grieve, you mourn and you bury them. Well, this man forgot the 'bury' part.
Local naman...
  • This question, i want to hear the answers to. San nga ba napupunta pera ng gobyerno? Especially ung pork-barrel na yan. Pano ba gumagana un? Is it already allocated per recipient? Or is it 'for allocation' pa depending on who's planning to get their share? So if it is the first case, then the question is valid. If it is the second, then, well valid pa din ung question pero in a different context na. ^_^
  • May follow-up question ako dyan, kung nakuha man ng senator ung pork barrel nya, Where does the released pork barrel go? O_o

Malu Fernandez who?

I came across this article from my RSS tracker, and checked out the story. As interested as i was, i did a couple of searches and came across the "controversial" article she wrote for People Asia Magazine.

Hehehe, she did get the ire of those who she wrote against, as evidenced in this message board. Do a Google and you'll find a lot of hits about this suddenly "famous" name.

Some excerpts from the 'infamous' article:
However I forgot that the hub was in Dubai and the majority of the OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) were stationed there. The duty-free shop was overrun with Filipino workers selling cell phones and perfume. Meanwhile, I wanted to slash my wrist at the thought of being trapped in a plane with all of them.
While I was on the plane (where the seats were so small I had bruises on my legs), my only consolation was the entertainment on the small flat screen in front of me. But it was busted, so I heaved a sigh, popped my sleeping pills and dozed off to the sounds of gum chewing and endless yelling of “HOY! Kumusta ka na? At taga san ka? Domestic helper ka rin ba?” Translation: “Hey there? Where are you from? Are you a domestic helper as well?” I thought I had died and God had sent me to my very own private hell.
On my way back, I had to bravely take the economy flight once more. This time I had already resigned myself to being trapped like a sardine in a sardine can with all these OFWs smelling of AXE and Charlie cologne while Jo Malone evaporated into thin air.
Based from what other bloggers and 'comment-ers' has to say about this lady writing this kind of article just to be 'famous', i can say that she indeed did well in what she wanted. Naging sikat nga siya, though not the way you want 'famous' to be. Hehehehehehe.

A lesson to writers, be careful what you write about. What this lady has done, it cost her her job, and career, and reputation. So the next time you write something about someone or some other thing, keep in mind that there will always be someone who will not like what you've written.

Woman sets fire to ex-husband's penis
Wed Aug 22, 10:53 AM ET

A woman set fire to her ex-husband's penis as he sat naked watching television and drinking vodka, Moscow police said Wednesday.

Asked if the man would make a full recovery, a police spokeswoman said it was "difficult to predict."

The attack climaxed three years of acrimonious enforced co-habitation. The couple divorced three years ago but continued to share a small flat, something common in Russia where property costs are very high.

"It was monstrously painful," the wounded ex-husband told Tvoi Den newspaper. "I was burning like a torch. I don't know what I did to deserve this."

Mitch Albom - For One More Day

The book asks, if you were given one day to meet and talk to a person from your past, who would it be? What would you want to say to that person?
'Chick' Benetto, had that chance one day, the day that he was supposed to commit suicide. His current situation has driven him to depression forcing him towards the thought of ending it all.
The rest of the story was about how he found out 'explanations' to what happened to his life, aided by the 'ghost' of his mother.
This is a very touching story of survival and realization. It talks about the importance of the role our mother has in our life. Often times we neglect that importance, we even push our moms away from our lives. And we only realize that importance, when they are already gone. And that's the only time we realize the things that we should have done or said to our mother.
This story is true, not only to our mother, or father, or any other family, but to all the things that are important to us. Small things, big things, all of them need to be valued equally. All of them are/were important in one way or another.

"When its rain, its four!"

This morning, on our way to the office, tsempo ang bagsak ng ulan. According to the weather news, we should expect rain until tomorrow.

Labo.

"When its rain, its four" talaga!

104 degrees Farenheit

Anyway, back to the topic. Yup sobrang init dito, imagine 104 degrees on the Farenheit scale. That's what, about 40 degrees Celsius? Yes, THAT hot here in Austin right now. We leave the hotel at around 7:30 to 7:45 AM, and the temperature is already at the the high 80's to low 90's.

Sobrang init sa labas, tapos pag pasok mo ng building or any other establishment eh malamig. Last saturday, nagpunta kame sa isang mall. Pretzel at smoothie.

Well, we'll still be here for another couple of weeks. The "fall" season starts daw at September. We're leaving on the 24th.
